Dear FRS Friends,

Last Sunday's internet broadcast which would go out between 15.00-20.00 UTC had to be cancelled becauseof a technical problem. As we do not do the streaming ourselves, we were informed when it was too late to let you know.

Apologies for that! To make up FRS-Holland is right now on the internet (thanks to Jack!!):

Dec. 31st 09.00-14.00 plus again 14.00-19.00 CET.

Jan. 1st 09.00-14.00 plus again 14.00-19.00 CET.

So all in all the December 28th broadcast will be streamed no less than 4 times in very good audio quality.

Season's Greetings from all of us at FRS-Holland. We wish all of you a merry Christmas.
May 2009 become a healthy, successful and radioactive year for all of you.
Thanks for your support in the past year.

Next Sunday December 28th 2008, FRS-Holland will take to the airwaves with another 5 hour seasonal broadcast. We will be on 6220 kHz 08.00-13.00 UTC. In addition we are on 6400 kHz 08.00-22.00 UTC ánd 9770 kHz 14.30-15.30 UTC. 9770 features part 1 & 2 of FRS goes DX, output will be a 100 kW. We issue a special seasonal QSL card for next Sunday. We'd love to hear from you....please add some personal comments and px criticism in your report. That would be fine! Programmes will be presented by Jan van Dijk, Paul Graham, Mike Anderson & Peter Verbruggen. Mike Anderson will present DX-Welle in German. Jan van Dijk will be doing the German Service including a 2008 Free Radio overview. Peter V. presents an extra long FRS Magazine flashing back to December 1988 and December 1998 and present FRS goes DX (part 1 & 2) including news from around the world and SW Free Radio news as well. Ingredients for next Sunday are: great music from the past 4 decades, radio news, 2008 review, listener's letters & eMails from November, a listeners competition, the 'Phrase that Pays', New Year Greetings and much, much more....

Christmas Day and Boxing Day Peter V. will present each day a one hour show on 9770 kHz 13.00- 14.00 hours UTC. These programmes are part of a joint venture of KBC Radio, Britain Radio Int. and FRS-Holland. All shows are aired under the umbrella of the Mighty KBC but reports for the 13.00-14.00 UTC shows are more than welcome and can be sent to our usual mail or postal address! The broadcasts on both XMas Days will take place between 10.00- 15.30 UTC. 100,000 watts on 9770 kHz.

FRS-Holland will be on air next Sunday November 2nd 2008. The broadcast will start at 08.00 UTC/09.00 CET and close down will be at 12.00 UTC/13.00 CET. Of course we do hope propagation will be satisfactory that day. Programme line-up consists of FRS Magazine, German Service, FRS Goes DX and FRS Golden Show. Ingredients....great music, DX News, letters, the day calendar for November 2nd, a radior retelated Internet item and an extract of a landbased pirate station of the past. Radio entertainment on a Sunday. Tune in...6220 kHz/ 48 metres. That same day 15.00- 18.00 UTC/16.00- 20.00 CET will see a full repeat on the internet. Check on your computer <>.

All letters from the previous broadcast are handled coming your way very soon (with the brandnew QSL cards).

February 2007 we started a new series consisting of four different QSL cards called the FRS Transmitter Series. QSL #4 will be issued ifor next Sunday's broadcast. Edition 33 of FRS News is out now containing four A4 pages full of information and columns. A copy can be obtained simply by sending 2 euro to our mailing address. Alternatively you can get yourself a free digital copy provided you have MS Publisher on your computer. In that case just send us an e-mail.

* Radio Spaceshuttle International is testing it's North-European propagation with few watts transmissions during next weekend 4 to 6th July AM and usb:

First tests on Friday evening from 15 up to 23 hours on 48mb: 6235, 6270, 6280, 6302, 6308, 6310 or 6317 kHz. Hoping to be on 6270 kHz, but might change frequency without notice during transmission to a free one!

Later tests might be on 76mb: from 23 utc on ~3927 kHz.

On Saturday and/or Sunday we might be on from 13 utc either on 48 or 41 mb (~7375 kHz)

When requested it might be possible that we are on 48 mb Wednesdey evening 2nd of June. We are trying to be on air from around 15 hours utc and several times perhaps until around 23 hours utc....

Frequency might be 6270 kHz (1st choice), 6280, 6302-6310 kHz..... Changes possible to be in a clear frequency of cource.

I am not sure of propagation but it is still possible we skip you over.... If we found a proper aerial for 76 mb we shall also try it around 23 hours utc (~3927 kHz)

Radio Broadcast Italia 1485 Khz

Sono usciti allo scoperto i fautori dell'attivazione del trasmettitore in onde medie che opera a Roma su 1485 Khz. La notizia diffusa in anteprima dalla trasmissione radiofonica Studio DX e poi ripresa da blog e liste, ha scatenato la ricerca di questo segnale da parte dei romani. Possiamo adesso darvi qualche dettaglio in più, cosa che non avevamo fatto in precedenza proprio su richiesta della nostra fonte, si tratta di una pregevole inziativa da parte dei gestori del sito internet Broadcast Italia con in testa Maurizio Amici, fondatore di Radio Hanna, una delle prime radio libere romane. Amici ha acquisito una frequenza FM in provincia di Frosinone e acceso un trasmettitore in onde medie da 150 watt a Roma, lo scopo è quello di portare anche in etere quello che è già sul web, e cioè la memoria storica dell'emittenza libera italiana grazie a registrazioni originali, alcune delle quali già presenti sul sito. Il prossimo step, a brevissima scadenza, è il potenziamento ad almeno un kw dei 1485 Khz a Roma. Sono sicuro che torneremo a parlare di questo argomento, grazie anche alla voglia di espansione dimostrata dagli animatori dell'iniziativa, autofinanziata e al momento senza fini di lucro.

Serbian pirate station Radio Vihor will be on the air with special international broadcast to Europe on Sunday evening 18th May from 22.00 to 23.00 CET (20.00-21.00 UTC). The frequency will be 1660 kHz or 1650/1670 kHz (free channel will be chosen)! Power 1 kW.

 

Two Finnish DX-listeners, Harri Kujala and Jim Solatie will visit Radio Vihor (located in Pancevo, 25 km Northeast from Belgrade) and this team will play Finnish and Serbian music for one hour. GSM-number will be announced in the programme and European listeners can phone to the programme.

MV Mi Amigo

On 19th March 1980, during force ten storms, the anchor chain broke, and the Mi Amigo drifted for ten miles before running aground onto the Long Sand Bank The hull was damaged in the generator room. Water started to pour in. At 23:58 hours the Caroline theme was played for the last time, then DJ Stevie Gordon announced "Due to severe weather conditions and the fact that we are shipping quite a lot of water, we're closing down and the crew are at this stage leaving the ship. Obviously we hope to be back with you as soon as possible, but we'd just like to assure you all on land that there's nothing to worry about. We're all quite safe. Just for the moment we'd like to say goodbye." DJ Tom Anderson then continued "Yes it's not a very good occasion really. I have to hurry this as the lifeboat is standing by. We're not leaving and disappearing, we're going onto the lifeboat hoping that the pump can take it. If they can, we'll be back. If not, well I don't like to say it. I think we will be back one way or another." DJ Stevie Gordon continued "Yes I think so, From all of us, for the moment goodbye and God bless." After standing by for three hours the coxswain of the Sheerness lifeboat insisted that the crew leave the ship as parts of the ship are waist deep in water. On the next day the Mi Amigo sank at 51 degrees 35 minutes North, 01 degrees 17 minutes 20 seconds East. Only the mast remained visible. Divers inspected the Mi Amigo and announced that the ship was distorting as it sank into the sand. On 22nd May Thanet Council announced plans to refloat the Mi Amigo and turn it into a tourist attraction in Ramsgate, Kent. But the Mi Amigo was left untouched. During the last week of July 1986 the mast on the MV Mi Amigo collapsed. On 2nd August Trinity House issued a notice (weekly edition 30) stating that the one-hundred and twenty-seven foot mast was no longer visible. On 13th September Trinity House issued an updated notice (weekly edition 36) stating that a can buoy is to be placed at the location of the wreck of the MV Mi Amigo.

John Platt added in March 2005: As of 2003 the Mi Amigo was resting on her port side, half buried in the sand. The hull is broken in two just forward of the bridge and the lower two sections of the mast were still attached to the hull, the rest are missing. The diver who gave me this information removed several objects from the wreck but would not tell me what.

He had responded to the item you put on your site regarding me needing the masts dimensions. He contacted me and asked what measurements did I need saying that he would try to get them for me the next time he dived the wreck. This he did but he gave me but he incorrectly measured the base of the mast, it took me two years to find this out.

The Mi Amigo is considered to be a difficult dive because of the manner in which the water moves there. At best, the wreck can only be dived twice a year and then only for a maximum of 20 minutes when the water is slack. Visibility is always only a matter of a couple of feet at best. The hull is relatively clean of marine growth due to the scouring effect of the sand lifted by the fast flowing water.

When a hole appeared in the hull, the usual procedure was to stop the inflow of water by whatever means. The wooden cradle was then built around the hole and filled with concrete. During one of the ships excursions onto a sand bank the old girl rested on her anchor chain which resulted in a neat line of, I believe 16 holes in the hull. These were filled as above and over time the number of these repairs increased to, again I believe a total of around 28.

When she visited her last sandbank, the motion of the ship moving up and down onto the sandbank knocked nearly all of the concrete blocks off and the water poured in. All the pumps were working but were unable to cope with the volume of water that was entering the ship, thus she was abandoned and sank. Ràdio Barretina acaba per sempre les seves emissions.

Aquest dimecres 30 d´abril i a les 9:55 del matí, un funcionari de la "Dirección General de Telecomunicaciones y Tecnologías de la Información" m´ha fet una visita sorpresa als estudis de la ràdio.

Sembla que les emissions de Radio Barretina molestaven a la marina francesa i l´administració del país veí ha tramitat una queixa adreçada al govern espanyol, i ja veieu que ha actuat ràpid.

Es curiós que aquest 2008, a l´Arboç cel·lebrem el bicentenari de la guerra del francès, on els amics gavatxos van exterminar quasi tota la població i cremar totalment la vila i els seus bens. Coincidències ?

El proper dia 5 de maig em precintarán el meu estimat tercera mà, Yaesu FT-757 GX, i mai més el podré fer servir. Al tractar-se d´un equip dels anys 80, no dispossa de la normativa i distintiu CE i no es pot legalitzar de cap de les maneres. Tota una llàstima, perque ara que ja no puc emetre, el volia fer servir per rebre i convertir-me en un radio escolta.

Alegant que eren emissions experimentals i que no tenia coneixement dels problemes que produeix la meva activitat i que tampoc hi habia cap intenció de lucrar-me, sembla que no em ficaràn cap multa, al col·laborar amb el tancament de l´activitat radiofónica en ona curta sense possar cap tipus d´impediment al procediment de precinte.

Tampoc m´he amagat mai, sempre han sabut on erem i on trobar-nos.

Barretina s´ha acabat amics...... però com ja vaig dir fa uns dies en aquest blog, passo al "PLA B".

El pla "B" suposarà el·laborar una proposició no de llei i portar-la al "Congrés dels Diputats", on se li demanarà al govern espanyol que acabi amb el monopoli de RNE-REE sobre les frecuències de projecció exterior, i que aixó suposi la modificació o subsanació de les lleis que pertoquen de la Constitució Espanyola, on s´ens permeti, com pais que som, dispossar d´un espai radioelèctric propi a les ones curtes per donar més presència al mòn de la nostra llengua i cultura.

El meu projecte, a diferència del que Catalunya Ràdio volgués fer, passaria per ser una emissora que faria difussió dels programes especialitzats que generarien les milers d´emissores municipals que existeixen al Principat, i que durant molts anys han repetit el senyal de Catalunya Ràdio, ajudant-la quant no dispossava de centres repetidors per tot el territori.
Jo crec que ens deuen molt, i que mai ens han donat res a cambi, ni les gràcies amb una carta !

Es hora que totes les persones que treballem a les municipals i els oidors/es asidus, ens unim d´una vegada i demanem el reconeixement a la nostra feina, encara que no estem a una ràdio de cobertura nacional, i que els anys i anys d´experiència al mitjà, ens dongui accès "in situ" a una titul·lació per mèrits,
"Mestres artesans en ràdio".

Faré tot el possible perque Catalunya tingui una emissora o llicències per ràdio mundial en ona curta. Tot i que potser les meves idees siguin aprofitades per qualsevol institució o grup polític com a novetat o gran cosa, espero que per qualsevol bon moviment que facin em tinguin en compte, més ben dit, que ens tinguin en compte, perque sense vosaltres que esteu al altre costat del receptor, no hagués estat possible aquesta aventura, i per tant sereu els que decidireu els continguts, al ser bons coneixedors del tipus de programacións que difonen aquestes estacions.

Tinc tots els vostres correus electrónics i en qualsevol moment que la cosa prosperi ho sabreu ràpidament i us convocaré a una reunió per si us voleu pujar al carro d´aquest magnífic i prometedor projecte.

Negli anni ‘60 e ‘70 l’Inghilterra fu testimone di un singolare fenomeno, destinato a cambiare per sempre il mondo delle radio: le ‘Radio Pirata’, così chiamate perchè trasmettevano da navi ancorate appena al di fuori delle acque territoriali del Regno Unito, in modo da aggirare le leggi vigenti. Erano comunque illegali e soggette a raid ed ispezioni continue da parte delle autorità, il che rendeva alquanto movimentata la vita quotidiana dei DJ e dei produttori a bordo di quei vascelli. Radio Caroline era una di queste stazioni radio pirata. A portare sullo schermo la vicenda di questa radio particolare, sarà un team di attori pluriblasonati: Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh, Rhys Ifans, January Jones e, se le attuali trattative avranno esito positivo, Philip Seymour Hoffman nel ruolo dell’irriverente DJ The Count. Ofcom scuppered 61 pirate broadcasters in 2007

Sixty-one people were prosecuted for illegally broadcasting in the UK during the 2006/7 financial year, according to Ofcom's latest figures (http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/ifi/enforcement/pstats/stats0607). One of those got off the charges, with the rest copping fines of about £7,000 between them plus £21,000 in costs. Six convictions for dodgy CE marking brought in another £11,500 in fines, and one CB user got hit for £50.

Part of Ofcom's remit is to prevent unauthorised use of the spectrum it licenses, generally in response to complaints from legitimate licence holders. Ofcom said last year it received 1,300 cases of interference, of which more than 80 "were impacting upon key safety of life services".

The UK regulator last week (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/02/19/london_pirates/) announced a it had shut the door on 22 illegal broadcasters in London.

Fining pirate stations and confiscating their equipment clearly isn't working, and no matter how much Ofcom claims they are interfering with life-saving services people continue to listen to them - so targeting the advertisers might seem worth a try.

In the latest crackdown Ofcom wrote to 20 nightclubs to let them know they were breaking the Wireless Telegraphy Act 2006. When pushed, however, they admitted they've never actually prosecuted anyone for it (though they have asked for specific events to be pulled with some success).

Talking to the pirates, it seems that such an action would be of limited value anyway - they make their money from charging DJs for the air-time, though none of the pirates we spoke to were making a living out of it.

When it comes to interference it seems the quality of the equipment is what matters. One ex-regulator told us that most of the kit is pretty idiot-proof these days: "Transmitter modules are readily available from suppliers such as Veronica and Broadcast Warehouse. They are easily assembled and connected and the audio side is quite straightforward; however antennas are not plug 'n play and this is where knowledge is required and problems arise."

Obviously, badly set up kit could be transmitting on any frequency, or a whole range of frequencies - though several readers pointed out that such circumstances are not in the interests of the pirate, who will be quickly tracked and shut down. Such tracking will only find the transmitter, housed on top of a tall building or (as is increasingly the case) strapped to the side of a mobile-phone cell tower where the power supply is more standard and the security lower. Much of the illegal activity of the pirates consists of the way in which they gain access to, and steal power from, these installations.

Investigators will then try to track down the studio, which will have line of sight to the transmitter for a microwave connection. If the studio is found, people can be arrested and equipment seized. Some of those arrested will get an official caution or conditional discharge (41 of the 61 prosecuted last year), though many will never get charged. We asked Ofcom for the number of arrests last year, for comparison, but it's been unable to provide us with an answer.

As for the stories of booby-trapping equipment to prevent its removal, the pirates tell us that such activity is generally designed to prevent other pirate stations from nicking their transmitters. Such looting is, apparently, endemic in London, and hardly something they can report to the police.

In fact, competition between the illegal broadcasters seems to be the root of much of the violence associated with pirate radio, as evidenced by the seizure of knives and even firearms from pirate-radio studios - not something the Radio Caroline crowd would have endorsed.

Interference from pirate radio stations could be eliminated through better education, or equipment, but the competition issue isn't going to go away. Handing out fines and cautions isn't having much of an impact either, but technology could make the problem simply disappear. All of the pirate radio stations we spoke to are also streamed over the internet, and with mobile data moving towards more sensible pricing the need for FM infrastructure is rapidly disappearing.

Should a significant proportion of the population move to DAB radio the pirates could well find themselves priced out of the market, forced onto the mobile internet. It will be interesting to see how many continue with their vocation when it ceases to have the kudos of being illegal. ®

I've been asked to to let you know that there will be a test transmission this coming Saturday afternoon (23rd Feb) starting 14:00 UTC on 15.800 kHz.

The output-power will be appr. 50 watts into a sloper dipole.

It would be very much appreciated if you could listen to your radio to see if you receive this test; music from the 1920's and 1930's will be aired.

Enorme Aktivität schon am Samstag bei akzeptablen bis hin zu oftmals guten Bedingungen und
Signalen. Das klare trockene Wetter ließ die Konditionen allem Anschein nach hochschnellen. Eine solch starke Präsenz von Stationen hatte man an einem Samstag schon lange nicht mehr erlebt. Dieser Trend setzte sich im Großen und Ganzen auch am Sonntag fort. Zwar war man des
öfteren mit z.T. starkem und schnellen Fading arg geplagt, doch das ist man gewohnt - man fügt sich ins Unabänderliche. Bewertet man besagtes Fading also nicht übermäßig, so kann man
man mit dem gehörten durchaus zufrieden sein.

Die atmosphärischen Störungen hielten sich unterhalb des "Grausamen", die Stationen waren meist gut zu hören. Einziges größeres Problem war der Platzmangel - zeitweise war das Band
so gerappelt voll, daß an ein aktivieren der "Sendekräfte" nicht zu denken war. Wollte man nicht mit nur ein paar KHZ Unterschied zu seinem Nachbarn sich und dem Kollegen das Leben schwer machen. Ganz im Gegenteil zur KW waren die Bedingungen am Freitag und Samstag hunds-
miserabel - einfach nur grausame atmosphärische Störungen bei denen man die Lust am Hobby
ganz schnell verlieren konnte.

RADIO BARRETINA bestätigte meinen audio Report vom 17.Januar 2008 nach 25 Tagen und einer Er-
innerungs Mail (incl. eines neuen audio Clips) mit der bekannten E-Mail QSL. Wie die Station
schrieb, hätte man Probleme mit dem Versenden, bzw. Erhalt von E-Mails. Ich solle ihr doch meinen alten Report ganz einfach noch einmal zusenden - der dann auch bestätigt wurde. Der
neue hingegen (noch ?) nicht. Die QSL trug die No 38 - da hatte ich eigentlich eine höhere
No erwartet.

Wenigstens der Name ist korrekt und klar: Betreffs der Station die letzte Woche auf der 6250
KHZ endlos Queen Scheiben auflegte, schreibt NEWS Leser Jörg Hoffman: "Hi, bezüglich der Sta-
tion am vergangenen Sonntag auf 6250 kHz kann ich definitiv bestätigen, dass es sich hierbei um RADIO QUEEN handelte. Der ID wurde im italienischen Slang als - Quinn - gesprochen. Auch hörte ich den ID als RADIO QUINN ITALY. Add ist unbekannt". DANKE JÖRG!!!

De vorstehenden Artikel habe ich bewusst einmal stehen gelassen obwohl oder gerade weil er sich zwischenzeitlich erledigt haben dürfte. Das Thema RADIO QUEEN muss nämlich noch einmal völlig neu betrachtet werden. Wie der jetzige Stand der Dinge aussieht, handelt es bei der als QUEEN "klar" identifizierten Station tatsächlich um RADIO FRIENDS ITALY, bzw. RFI Wobei gesagt werden muß, daß fast ausschließlich der Name QUEEN als verstandener Stationsname in den Loglisten vieler DXer gestanden hat. So war/ist der Name auch zu verstehen. Bei näherem hinhören allerdings ist RADIO FRIENDS und auch RADIO FRIENDS ITALY zu verstehen. Probleme mit der Verständlichkeit gab es schon zu der Zeit als die Station ihre Programme aufnahm (Dezem-
ber 2004).

Achim und Klaus waren mit die ersten die den "Hörfehler entdeckten". Am heutigen Sonntag war
die Station nun mit einem Programm on air, das nochmals unserem verstorbenen Freund Stefan Dietl gewidmet war. Mit ihrem Nonstop Musik Programm erwiesen die italienischen Musik Piraten
Stefan nachträglich noch einmal die letzte Ehre. Ein feiner Zug von einer Station die den Verstorbenen wahrscheinlich noch weniger kannte als jede andere, denke ich mal. Das Memory Programm wurde nur von oftmaligen Stationsansagen und ID's unterbrochen. Eine Kontaktadresse war meinerseits nicht zu hören - radiofriendsitaly@hotmail.com war die zuletzt bekannte Add
der Station. Eine E-Mail vom Sonntagmittag wurde bisher nicht als nicht zustellbar retouniert
Die Add könnte also noch stimmen.

Gern genutzt die QRG 5815 KHZ - aber eher zum Unwillen von ORION RADIO. Vor dem gigantischen
WORLD MUSIC RADIO Transmitter Signal gab es am Sonntag kein entrinnen - außer man machte sich
aus dem Staub! Lief am Morgen zuerst KISS RADIO auf der beliebten 5815 KHZ, so hatte am Nach-
mittag bis exakt 14.00 UTC RADIO SPACESHUTTLE die QRG angemietet. Wie Harri Kujala aus Finn-
land schreibt, hat der legale Transmitter in Dänemark eine Leistung von 5-6 KW und wurde vor-
her schon von WORLD MUSIC RADIO und dem FRSH genutzt. An diesem Wochenende nun von KISS RADIO
und RSI. Vielleicht eine Alternative für "Tape Piraten"?! RSI ist praktisch allen FR Freaks
bestens bekannt, während KISS RADIO nicht so geläufig ist. SPACESHUTTLE bestätigt mit detail-
lierter Karte nur gegen 2 Euronen/$$ via der P.O.BOX 2702, NL-6049 ZG HERTEN. Sonstige Post
kann auch an die geschickt werden. Über KISS RADIO gibt die
E-Mail von Stig Hartvig Nielsen nähere Infos.

Die beiden Programme KISS RADIO & RSI liefen über den in Karup/DK stationierten 7 KW Sender von WMR. Dies nur noch einmal zur Klärung des Relays - da hier und da Fragezeichen hinter dem Relayanbieter standen. Von Stig Hartvig Nielsen bekam ich die folgende Mail:

Kiss Radio has nothing to do with WMR and is not from Northern Ireland. Kiss Radio is on the air for the second time today; previously the station had one rebroadcast via 9290 Sitkuani. As far as I remember the station name then was "Kiss 9290".

There are no plans for own programmes from WMR.

Einen echten Glücksgriff gab es am letzten Montag auf der 3930,5 KHZ: Beim routinemäßigen ab-
kurbeln der Bänder erwischte ich zur mitternächtlichen Stunde noch INTERCITY RADIO mit einem
Test. Allerdings waren die atmosphärischen Störungen immer dann am stärksten, als sich die Station identifizierte! So gab es die klare ID erst mit einer E-Mail des Stationsbetreibers.
Auf der MW ist die Station gelegentlich auch on air - hier aber dann unter RADIO TASMANIA.
Und unter einem ganz anderen Namen ist die Station auch im 48MB "mehr als bekannt" und ein
ständiger Gast. Unter INTERCITY RADIO, oder auch INTERCITY AM ist man nur noch sporadisch ak-
tiv - den Namen hat man schon vor längerem wegen gleich oder ähnlich lautender Stationsnamen
und der dadurch bestehenden Verwechselungsgefahr abgelegt. Leicht möglich, daß die Station in
nächster Zeit hier und da wieder einmal einen 76 MB-Test unter INTERCITY fährt. Zu erreichen
ist die Station - sollte man sie einmal hören - unter der gert488@hotmail.com. Die Intercity
E-Mail Add existiert nicht mehr.

Unter dem bis jetzt noch tent. Namen PHADFINDER RADIO konnte am Freitag auf der 6290 KHZ ei-
ne neue Station geloggt werden. Leider konnte die Station nicht lange genug geloggt werden,
praktisch nur, als sie schon in den letzten Zügen lag, so daß es bisher jetzt noch keine wei-
teren Infos gibt. Zumindest eine gute Tat wäre es schon, wenn sich der OP einmal in der Re-
daktion melden würde.

Als ebenfalls vollkommen neu im Band konnte am Wochenende RADIO CALYPSO notiert werden. Wie
immer es auch ist - die Ankündigung, daß der Nachbar jetzt auch zu den Piraten übergelaufen
ist und auch die OP's (zumindest einer) kamen irgendwie bekannt vor. Aber es geht natürlich
nichts über gute Nachwuchsarbeit - nur wer gefördert wird, bringt’s einmal zu etwas im Leben!
Als einziger Kontakt wurde im Programm die HL 0031-6-13542272 angesagt - E-Mail bisher Fehl-
anzeige. Aber was nicht ist kann ja noch werden. Notfalls kann man es einmal über den Trainer
probieren. Na denn CALYPSO - willkommen im Band.

RADIO COCHIGUAZ mit Birthday im Innenband?! Auf der ungewöhnlichen Frequenz 6236,0 KHZ konnte
der Latino Pirat am Sonntag mit einer Show anlässlich des 11.Statiosngeburtstags empfangen
werden. Angekündigt war dieses Programm seitens Cachito nicht gewesen. Da das Band um diese Zeit noch rappelvoll war, kann man davon ausgehen, daß aus der Not eine Tugend gemacht wurde
und besagte 6236 KHZ mangels anderer freier Plätze eingesetzt wurde. Allerdings war die keine
schlechte Wahl - Robertas in Belgien z.B. loggte COCHIGUAZ zwischen 33433 und 45444. Da wird
sich Cachito gefreut haben - via own Transmitter dürfte dieses bombastische Signal wohl ge-
kommen sein. Ansonsten lagen die Werte im "Nahbereich", also inländisch zwischen 1 und 4 - je
nach Fadingstärke. Herrlicher Anden/Panföten Sound machten (jedenfalls für mich) das zuhören
zu einem wahren Ohrenschmaus. RADIO COCHIGUAZ bestätigt via der radio_cochiguaz@yahoo.com mit
detaillierten QSL Karten. Wie im Programm zu hören war, bitte sie darum, nur dieses Adresse
für Hörerpost zu gebrauchen. Ansonsten ist R.COCHIGUAZ gerade an Wochenenden oftmals auf der
6307 KHZ (via eigenem TX direkt aus den Anden oder auch via Euro-Relay auf der 6308,8 KHZ zu
hören. In der Regle kündigt OP Cachito die Programme in einer Vorab E-Mail an.

Auch eher selten anzutreffen im Äther sie die früher immer hochaktive Station DELTA RADIO aus
West Brabant. Gelegentlich kann man diese Station auch noch auf der MW hören - dann aber auch
nur extrem schwach. Am Sonntagnachmittag konnte ich die Station zufällig auf der var.5825 KHZ erwischen - mit dem bekannten Musikstyle von Pop & Rock sowie der Ansage der E-Mail Add. Doch
Vorsicht - in besagter E-Mail Add steckt ein leicht zu übersehender "E-Mail Killer". Die Sta-
tion hat Add deltapirat@hotmail.com, also DELTAPIRAT ohne "E" am Schluß!! In zahlreichen Lis-
ten geisert DELTAPIRATE umher - doch E-Mails mit dieser Schreibweise werden gleich retouniert
Oft dauert es eine ganze Weile bis man den "Fehler" bemerkt. deltapirate@hotmail.com kommt an
man sollte sich allerdings betreffs einer Antwort in Geduld üben!!!

Ijsselmeer Pirat RADIO TITANIC meldet sich zurück! Trotz des späten Samstagnachmittags konnte
Captain John auf der 6267 KHZ fadingbedingt zwar etwas schwankend, aber doch mit gutem Signal
aufgenommen werden. Da ein Test mit neuer Antenne angesagt wurde, mag es wahrscheinlich daran
gelegen haben, daß es den "gertenschlanken Ätherpiraten" so gut auf die Antenne legte. Bleibt
zu hoffen, daß Mr.John seine neue Antenne in Zukunft des öfteren zum schwingen bringt. Die
Station hat sich mit der neuen Computertechnik noch nicht so recht anfreunden können - E-Mail und Internet sind immer noch Fremdwörter für die Station. Aber erreichbar ist man schon - er
hat sich im bekannten Postfach 1732, D-48578 GRONAU eingemietet.

Seit ein paar Tagen ist im Netz ein neuer Piraten Blog erreichbar - Ricky aus Finnland stellt
unter dem Namen "DXing in south western Finland - Logs of free radio stations" und der Add http://pirateradiolog.blogspot.com/ seine FR-Logs ins Internet. Der Blog ist natürlich auch
mit der D.Tim HP verlinkt und kann dort blitzschnell angeklickt und aufgerufen werden. Also
kein "ewiges" Suchen in endlosen Favoriten Listen.

Auch noch leicht tent. ist dieser Stationsname: RADIO 45. Robertas in Belgien konnte den hol-
ländischen "only Voice Amateur" am Sonntagmittag auf der 6305 KHZ gerade mal für ein paar Sekunden mit einem Rapport aufschnappen. Ob "radio four-five" (so die Ansage) der komplette Name ist, oder nur das was er noch verstehen konnte, ist nicht ganz sicher. Vielleicht taucht die Station ja irgendwann einmal wieder auf.
